Game Development, Unreal Engine, and EPIC Games Launcher
Greetings, Seedlings! We are thrilled to present our latest development updates to all of you. This article will provide an in-depth look at the recent progress, advancements, and significant updates that have taken place within the Evolving Forest.
To receive this information in a more timely manner, we suggest that you participate in our weekly Congregation Assemblies on Discord, which occur every Sunday at 2:30 pm EST. During these assemblies, we typically cover the same content found in the development editions. Additionally, you can find the event details at the top of the channels column under Events, along with a brief outline of the topics that will be addressed.
Let’s delve into what’s been going on:
Critter Battler UI
By looking at the concept image provided, you can gain a clear understanding of our intended direction for the user interface of Critter Battler. Our design includes sleek and minimalist lines, a futuristic aesthetic, and a streamlined and uncluttered layout. We are actively working on selecting a new font and will provide an update on this in the near future.
Within the game, users will have the option to browse through their collection of critters and select three to participate in battles. In the image, you will notice a health bar and four distinct categories of moves situated towards the right side. The type of moves available are dependent on the particular critter being utilized and its inherent characteristics.
Please note that the image presented is a conceptual representation and may not reflect the final product. There is a possibility that certain aspects of the Critter Battler may be subject to change prior to its release.
Unreal Engine 5
As you may be aware, we are currently in the process of transitioning our development efforts for Evolving Forest from Unity to Unreal Engine 5. This change presents us with exciting opportunities to enhance the game’s visual and technical capabilities significantly. The image provided serves as a testament to the level of detail that we can achieve with Unreal Engine 5, allowing us to create a truly immersive experience for players within the Evolving Forest. By incorporating intricate details such as the subtle glow of the pscillion, the distinct strands of grass, and even the small pebbles surrounding the arenas, the possibilities for enhancing the game’s environment are virtually limitless.
The graphical improvements we are implementing will extend to every aspect of the Evolving Forest, including your saplings and beloved critters. This means that the guilds in which you currently reside will soon become even more immersive, encouraging you to explore your surroundings and learn more about the game’s intricacies.
EPIC Games Launcher
We are thrilled to share that Evolving Forest will soon be accessible on the Epic Games Launcher, providing users with the convenience of easily downloading and launching the game directly from Epic’s system. This transition will also offer a range of benefits that we believe will significantly enhance your overall gaming experience, such as quicker download speeds, automatic updates, and heightened security measures.
With over 700 million cross-platform accounts, we have a unique opportunity to establish Evolving Forest as a leading game within the global gaming community. From the beginning, our objective has been to create a game that delivers a fun and lasting experience for players, and achieving this milestone reinforces our commitment to this vision.
